“Slow down. Take a deep breath. What’s the hurry? Why wear yourself out? Just what are you after anyway?..." ~Jeremiah 2:25 (MSG) Happy Friday - slow down and enjoy the weekend.
"When we try to reduce God to something we can comprehend or a philosophy we can understand, our souls become numb to His preeminence and transcendence." ~Sally Clarkson
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” ~John 8:31-32
Happy Monday! Whatever we have scheduled this week - He goes before us. Whatever surprises we have this week - He goes before us. Whatever difficult situation - He goes before us. Let's try and remember that He paves our way - holds our hands - and has our backs! Go tackle this week!
It can feel like a war on our hearts and minds sometimes. Light vs. dark. Good vs. evil. We've been forgiven but we feel like we aren't worthy. Jesus tells us to guard our hearts. So let's keep going towards The Light...let's keep chasing Him...and let's keep reminding ourselves that we are forgiven. It happens so regularly that it’s predictable. The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God’s commands, but it’s pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight. Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge. ~Romans 7:21-23 (MSG)
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord , and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. ~Psalm 1:1-3 (ESV)
