Coffee Date - Day 10

If we are having a coffee date today – welcome!  I’m so glad that you are here!  My coffee drinking has changed a bit since the beginning of this year…it’s just a plain cup of black coffee now. But, if yours has a delicious creamer in it – I envy you!  Regardless, welcome to the coffee date.

I thought I would try some new things on the blog this year.  Not really sure why – but I do feel the nudge to move in a different direction.  I have no idea about this direction – I’m only taking it day by day.

BUT…right now I know I love coffee dates and I love Jesus.  So, I’m bringing these two together on the blog.

If we were sitting together right now – I’d probably ask you how your Christmas went.  I’d tell you that ours was great – long enough, but not long enough.  If that makes any sense? I really do enjoy when the kids are off from school and we get that extra time together – along with a much need break from the normal.  But then, I look forward to when the normalcy returns.

I would tell you that for 3 weeks I have been sick and I am on three antibiotics – so I am starting just now to feel human again.  I’d promise you that I was not contagious because I’m on 3 antibiotics now.

I’d ask you if you had a “One Word” for 2015.  I’d tell you that mine is “Enough” – that I picked this word because I do too much and that I don’t have to do more, or be more, or try harder to feel needed, loved or even to feel like I belong.  That Jesus is my enough.  That His grace is enough.  That Jesus embraced His not enough.  That Jesus says, “Offer all you are – all you have – to Me!  I will turn that into abundance beyond all you can imagine and that all things are possible with Me.”  That by saying “enough” – I stay vertical and I don’t go horizontal.  Staying vertical meaning only focusing on Jesus.  I feel like this is sort of my spiritual reset this year.

Before we would have to go, I’d ask you what you were currently reading. Because I do love a good book – especially in my hands so that I can smell the pages when I read!  I’d tell you that right now I am reading “Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes, and that it is an amazing read and that you should read it too.

So, thank you for stopping by and having a virtual coffee date with me.  Let’s do it again!

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” ~2 Cor. 9:8
