Day 31 of Chasing THE Light Project

Welcome to Day 31 of Chasing THE Light Project: I can SHINE Today’s verse comes from John 1:5. “ Everything was created through him; nothing—not one thing!—came into being without him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out.” Today is day 31 of the Chasing THE Light project. My hope is that these posts have encouraged, inspired, and ignited something within you to want to chase His Light. I know that some days are hard and messy…but He holds you in His hands. He cups your face and says, “Look to Me. I AM with you and I AM all you need.” He is your life jacket. He is your life-light. Let His Light spark your heart so that you will say what His disciples said, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32) Focus on THE Light. Don’t let what macular degeneration does to the

Day 30 of Chasing THE Light Project (212/365)

Welcome to Day 30 of Chasing THE Light Project: I am a Light-Bearer Today’s verse comes from Matthew 5:15 (MSG). “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” The light always follows us. No matter where we are…the light is there. Turn on the evening news and we are flooded with darkness. But God is good. We can’t forget this. He is a good good Father. Our job is to not keep Him a secret. He calls us to shine His Light. We are to shine for Him. We are to speak to others about Him. W

Day 29 of Chasing THE Light Project (211/365)

Welcome to Day 29 of Chasing THE Light Project: I see His Beauty Today’s verse comes from Psalm 19:1. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” I’m sure you have heard the saying, “If Mamma isn’t happy then nobody is happy!” Yes? Sometimes it’s hard to see the beauty in the day to day activities. Sometimes, it’s hard to see the beauty in the mess of the house. Sometimes, it’s hard to see the beauty when the kids have been fighting all day. Sometimes, it’s hard to see the beauty when you care for an elderly parent every single day. Sometimes, when the stress mounts the beauty is hard to find. “The power of finding beauty in the humblest things makes home happy and life lovely.” ~Louisa May Alcott Can we see the beauty in what we may call the ugly? Can we start with being grateful…grateful for all the toys scattered throughout the house…grateful for all the dirty laundry…grateful for the dirty bathrooms…grateful for the dis

Welcome to Day 28 of Chasing THE Light Project

Welcome to Day 28 of Chasing THE Light Project: I Can Believe Today’s verse comes from Luke 1:45. “ Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” Do you have that friend that you just have to talk to when something is going on? Mary went to Elizabeth when she found out that she was going to have a baby. We need each other. I’m asking you to really think about this verse today. This is a verse that we could pray every single day. We need each other – now more than ever. Today, ask God to help you believe that He will fulfill His promises to you.

Day 27 (209/365) of Chasing THE Light Project

Welcome to Day 27 of Chasing THE Light Project: I am Full Today’s verse comes from Romans 15:13. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Sometimes we just want answers on our time…but that doesn’t always happen. We can only see so far but God can see it all. So we wait – patiently? God’s gift to us is hope. My bible says that, “Hope cannot be conjured up by man’s effort; it is God’s gift by His Spirit.” We wait and while we are waiting He gives us a gift. But we can’t receive that gift if our hands are tightly closed…and that is the way the enemy wants us. Fists towards God. Dig deep and lay it down. Allow your hands to open and release whatever it is that you are holding on so tightly to. Let Him tuck some hope into whatever that is for you. Trust Him…let Him take control of it and fill you with HOPE.
