Day 340---- Advent Day 6

Advent with Ann Voskamp's Book, The Greatest Gift

Today's Notes:  Laughter!

Gen. 21:6  "God has brought me laughter."

"Laughter is all oxygenated grace."  ~Ann Voskamp

"You have as much laughter as you have faith."  Martin Luther

With the hustle and bustle of this season and trying to be still and in the moment...I want to hear laughter.  I want to laugh.  I don't want to miss the coming of Christ in Christmas...and I want to experience the joy of the anticipation.  "Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly." ~G.K. Chesterton

Gen. 21: 1-7
The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised. And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the time of which God had spoken to him. Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore him, Isaac.[a] And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.” And she said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”

  1. Genesis 21:3 Isaac means he laughs
"...That ache is not the last word for those who believe God.  Jesus is.  Jesus is the last word, and we rejoice and rejoice again and re-joy again because grace is our oxygen now."  ~Ann Voskamp
