Pricelss! Proverbs 31 Blog Hop Day

I know myself.  I know my failures.  I know my weaknesses.  I know my regrets.  I know all the ways I fail on a daily basis.  How is it that God is not upset with me?  He knows all of my junk!  He knows everything…we can’t hide anything from Him.  But Jesus….He evaluates my worth.  He evaluates your worth.  He stands up and declares our life - are you ready for this - He declares our life….PRICELESS!

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”  ~Ephesians 2:10

We are His masterpiece!  We are PRICELESS!

Jesus is bigger than any of my mistakes.  He is bigger than any of my regrets.

January 1st 2013…I decided that my one word for this year would be FORWARD!  No looking back.  Keep going forward and keep my past mistakes in the past.  Keep my eyes forward and on Jesus.

“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God.  People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”  Psalm 36:7

Why am I so hard on myself?  The voice of the Accuser can be louder than the grace that God so freely gives. If I let it!  It’s not God that “reminds” me of my failures.  It’s not God that helps me remember my junk!  God is love.  He is kind.  He is merciful.

Jesus knows how we feel.

“He must increase, but I must decrease.”  John 3:30

The only way I am going to grow is if I expose myself to the light.  Jesus is that light.  To grow more like Him and to bloom….I need to keep my eyes on Him daily.

I struggle with accepting His grace and mercy because I feel so unworthy of it.  But He chases after us with it.  “God’s not out to get you- He’s out to give to you.” Ann Voskamp.

We need to know who we really are!  We are defined by God…not by our past.  “I can’t imagine anything more dangerous to the enemy of our hearts than people who know who they are.”  Emily Freeman

His love never fails.  We can’t buy His love…all we have to do is open up our hands and take it.  Priceless!

“We will never be secure until we realize we are fully loved by God, no matter our failings.”  Beth Moore

It is our choice to find God in our successes and in our failures.  “His goodness and mercy pursue me all the days of my life.”

He pursues!  He chases!  Jesus says to stay awake!  “And what I say to you I say to all:  stay awake.”  Mk 13:37

Stay awake to His priceless love!  He’s everywhere!

My pastor once said, “Don’t limit God by your small thinking!”  Even though I don’t feel worthy of His grace, His mercy, His unfailing love…Jesus died on the cross for me and for you.  That means we are worthy.  It means we are PRICELESS!  We are His if we choose to accept it.  We have an Eternal Home that He wants us to have.  All we have to do is fall forward, give thanks, and find our way home to Him.

  2. I love your statement "If I let it!" I get overwhelmed with the feeling that it's just not possible for God to love me...look at me, i'm a MESS!!! I dwell on the negative. Like you pointed out tho...God doesn't bring those thoughts on and doesn't want me to have them...He has overpowered them with His unfailing love. THAT is where my thoughts should dwell.
Thanks for the reminder :) Sarah.

Worry? Proverbs 31 OBS Blog Hop

This week's blog topic from Proverbs 31 OBS is on “Worry”… AND I know a thing or two about worry.  I’m betting a lot of you reading this do as well.  Dictionary.com defines worry as: “ to torment oneself with or suffer from disturbing thoughts; fret. ” Torment oneself.  Suffer.  Fret.  That’s what I can do to myself sometimes.   I’ve heard that if you worry you don’t really trust that God can handle it.  You don’t trust God with it.  That’s hard to swallow for me.  Because I worry about my kids, my family, me, friends, etc.  But I’m in the Bible every single day.  I am a Jesus girl.  So for me to worry and then see that my worry means I don’t trust that God can handle it is hard.  UGH.   I am getting better about it though.  My time with God every morning is helping.  When I start to worry about something…I begin to pray.  I stop the tormenting in its tracks and give it to Jesus.  Now, I may have to give it to Jesus more than once.

A Raging Battle.... Proverbs 31 OBS Blog Hop

On Sunday of this week, we started a new online Bible study with Proverbs 31!  I am so excited because I love anything Proverbs 31!  Our study this time around is by one of my favorite authors, Lysa TerKeurst….and her book, Made to Crave !  I have read this book already and it is amazing.  If you want to jump in on the study…please do!  Go here to sign up:  http://proverbs31.org/online-bible-studies/ This week for my blog topic I picked “A Raging Battle”   because food is not something I crave more than God…I crave other things.  God has shown me some things that I crave more than Him and it’s not pretty.  “My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord ; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.”  Psalm 84:2 For three years now I have been doing a 365 photo a day blog and last year I started writing every Thursday about my faith and whatever was on my heart.  I felt like this was something I was supposed to do.  When I

Running on Empty --- Proverbs 31 OBS Blog Hop Day

It’s the middle of summer and I feel like I am running on empty.  Ever feel that way?  The pace of summer is supposed to relax me but these past couple of days…I feel tired and done.  Right now- I don’t believe my life is telling the story of God’s grace.  Oh, I know His grace is all around me…He gives me grace D A I L Y.  But…am I giving grace to others?  No…not really because I am empty…drained…exhausted.  In fact, I told my kids that it would be an early bedtime last night because Mommy was done...that Mommy was on empty…that I had nothing more to give and we needed to just go to bed. <Insert Mommy guilt> I need to be filled up.  I want to be filled but I keep going through the motions of my day to day activities.  Depending on my own strength is draining me and causing me to say, “I have nothing more to give!”  When really…I do.  The other day, my daughter had a trail ride and as I stood in a big open field and looked out at God’s creati
