Welcome to Day 24 of Chase THE Light Project: I Can See
Today’s verse comes from Matthew 6:22-23. Jesus said, “If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.”
One of my hobbies is taking pictures. I have always loved photography. As a kid…my Dad was always taking pictures, we even had a dark room in our house. I never cared to be in front of the camera but I’ve always loved being behind it.
Today, you can find me snapping pictures of my world. I can always frame up a picture when just going about my day and then reach for my camera or phone. When I’m looking through the camera lens I will shift my position to get the right shot. Sometimes, I’m lying down in the dirt or standing on the table.
Shifting our perspective has the power to change everything.
If we look at the world through our own lens – it can start to look dark. Our focus is on the wrong things and we can become bitter and hateful to ourselves and our neighbors. But if we look at the world through His lens – then light will begin to fill us and we will treat others the way He would.
“But seek first His kingdom and His
righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
~Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
~Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
Shift to see.
Today, let’s shift our perspective so that we can see the good. Let’s remember that when our eyes are good – our whole body will be full of light. Let’s try and be hunters of beauty today by looking through the lens of Jesus. Chase THE Light.
