Welcome to Day 21 of Chasing THE Light Project: I am
Rescued
Today’s verse comes from Colossians 1:13-14 (MSG): “God rescued us from
dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he
loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the
sins we were doomed to keep repeating.”
Would you rather be in a pit or with the
King?
Sometimes, I think we choose the pit
because we don’t feel like we are worthy to hang out with King. Or maybe we are
afraid that if we come out of the pit we will have to do something we aren’t
ready to do.
What is your pit? Is it self-pity? Is it
emotional despair or something else? You may think you deserve your pit but God
doesn’t want you to stay there. Heaven is reaching down and He begs you to look
up and take His hand.
God not only rescues…He redeems and He
transforms.
Be set free…Jesus says that you will
know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
There will be ups and downs in this
life. But we must hold on to the rope of hope that God throws down to us when
we land in a pit. Look up…grab a hold of the rope…and let Him pull you out.
