Welcome to Day 8: I Can Forgive Others
Today’s verse comes from Ephesians 4:32 – “Instead, be kind to each other,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven
you.”
Instead of
trying to get even.
Instead of thinking about it over and over again.
Instead of talking about the person behind their back.
Instead of _____________________.
Forgive.
Instead of thinking about it over and over again.
Instead of talking about the person behind their back.
Instead of _____________________.
Forgive.
Forgiveness – this can be a hard one to swallow, huh? I
feel like the more we hold on to the hurt – it only hurts us more.
We can forgive and move on by focusing on all that Jesus
has done for us. Do I think it’s easy? No. Do I think it’s necessary? Yes.
Rick Warren says that there are 4 steps to forgive:
1. Recognize no one is perfect.
2. Relinquish your right to get even.
3. Respond to the evil with good
4. Refocus on God’s plan for your life

So, I have an activity for you to do today. Is there
someone that God is calling you to forgive? Talk to Him about it. Write it out
in your journal then open up His word and read: Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans
12:19a, 1 Corinthians 13. Write down anything that speaks to you from these
verses. Ask Him for His love to forgive and then leave it at His feet. Don’t
pick it back up…you don’t need to keep carrying that weight. Move forward in
the life you were created to live.
