This is the topic for our Made to Crave Action Plan OBS
this week. I started thinking of eating
smart and the only thing I kept chewing on was “I am the Bread of Life.”
In my busyness I can forget all that He provides. But if I let Him fill me…well, that is eating smart.
If we ingest Him…embrace Him as the Bread of Life….then
He is going to radiate out. And this world could use more of that.
John 6:35 says, “I am the Bread of Life; whoever comes to Me
shall not hunger, and whoever BELIEVES in Me shall never thirst.”
All He asks of us is to BELIEVE. The definition of believe is to "have
confidence in the truth, the existence, the reliability of.” He asks us to believe.
John 6:26-29 says, “Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw
signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do
not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal
life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set
his seal.” Then they said to him,
“What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus
answered them, “This is the work of God, that you
believe in him whom he has sent.”
Through eating the apple sin entered the world and
through consuming Jesus we are saved.
Through God’s word…the manna given….the loaves broken…the
Last Supper….all of these are symbols of Jesus…the Bread of Life.
Lamentations 3:24 says, “The Lord is my portion…therefore
I will hope in Him.”
So yeah, for me this week the “Eat Smart” topic went a
different way. “The one who eats this Bread will
live forever.” ~John 6:57
